Carrie Johnson

Carrie trained with Marilyn Baker and Tring Park.  She gained Bronze at The Genée International Ballet Competition and Young British Dancer of the Year competition in 2003.

Carrie graduated in 2015 with a distinction in the Professional Dancer’s Teaching Diploma (ARAD PDTD) and currently teaches at The Urdang Academy and London Studio Centre.  She has a first-class honours degree in Psychology with Sports Science and has been offered a place on the Applied Sport Psychology Masters.


Birmingham Royal Ballet, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Soloist with Ballet am Rhein – Principal with New Adventures – Phantom of the Opera – The McOnie Company.  Dancer for Andrea Bocelli in The Royal Variety performance choreographed by Anthony Van Laast and Disney’s Nutcracker and the Four Realms 2018 film, choreographed by Liam Scarlett.


The Royal Academy of Dance – Ballet Central – London Studio Centre – Tring Park School – The Urdang Academy – Ballet Boost – Performers College – National Youth Ballet, City Academy and London Junior and Senior Ballet – guest teacher for New Adventures and Yorke Dance Project – Bursary teacher for The Phylis Bedells 2018.


Drew McOnie’s Old Man of Lochnagar, Christopher Hampson’s Carnival and Janet Kinson’s Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra.


Carrie tutors third year students on their dissertations at The Urdang Academy.

Carrie is thrilled to be Associate Artistic Director to Drew McOnie and Ruth Brill.
