Dancers’ Development Experience – Seniors Information Page
Welcome
WELCOME
Hello and Welcome to the NYB Family,
We are so excited to welcome you to the Dancers’ Development Experience 2021.
As some of you may know this course is different to our usual summer programme due to the restrictions placed on us because of Covid 19 but we plan to offer you a chance to fully nurture, explore and develop your talents as a young dancer.
During the week you will work as a company with choreographer Louise Bennett and rehearsal director Charlie Brittain. They will guide you through a rehearsal process, which will challenge you to not only pick up movement material quickly and adapt to the choreographer’s needs but also give you the chance to devise your own movement in response to creative tasks, emulating the experience of creating work in a modern, professional ballet company. At the end of the week a sharing of your work will be filmed in the studio so that your family can see what you have worked on. We hope that this work will be fully developed for the stage in 2022.
Each day will start with a ballet class, and during the week you will have two drama classes where you can expand your skills and confidence in this area. Rehearsal each day will end with a cool down and a chance for reflection on what you have learnt during that day.
Please come prepared ready to challenge yourself, make new friends and learn new skills!
You should find all the information you need for the course in this area of the website, please contact admin@nationalyouthballet.org should you have any concerns or questions!
We can’t wait to welcome you on the 16th August.
With all best wishes,
Jo Meredith (NYB Creative Director) and the NYB Team.
