Ciara Clayton

Ciara (they/them) is a UK-based freelance dance artist working across ballet and contemporary dance in professional and educational settings. Since 2017, they have worked with National Youth Ballet as a rehearsal director and restager, supporting the creation and performance of new choreographic works.

 

Their rehearsal directing and restaging credits include CODA by Rachel Clarke, Blowin’ in the Wind by Daniel Phung, and Sonia Sabri’s Same Same… But Different and Mughal Miniatures. They have also served as Rehearsal Director for the FABRIC CAT Scheme, collaborating with choreographers John William-Watson, Alleyne Dance, and Gary Clarke.

 

Ciara is passionate about teaching and mentoring young performers. They currently teach ballet at Emil Dale Academy and are an Associate Artist with English National Ballet, where they have delivered a range of learning and participation programmes over the past six years, including leading ENB’s Youth Company. They also manage National Youth Ballet’s social media, supporting the organisation’s digital engagement and outreach efforts.
