Cira Robinson

Training/ Education: Cira Robinson is an American ballet dancer, educator, and arts leader. She trained in Cincinnati, Ohio at the School for Creative and Performing Arts with early professional development with Dance Theatre of Harlem’s Dancing Through Barriers Ensemble before moving to London in 2008.

Professional Experience: She was a senior artist with Ballet Black, performing internationally and originating roles in works by leading contemporary choreographers. Her career includes major festival appearances, award nominations, and advocacy for diversity in ballet, including collaboration on inclusive pointe shoe development. She has taught extensively in the UK and internationally and currently serves as Artistic Director of Yorkshire Ballet Seminars, mentoring the next generation of dancers.

Biggest Inspiration: Her inspiration comes from dancers who challenge tradition, uplift their communities, and expand representation in ballet while maintaining artistic excellence. So for Cira, aside from the ballet legends, she finds inspiration and influence from her peers.
