Emma Van Boolen
Emma Van Boolen (she/her) is an NYB alumna, having completed 3 seasons with the company. Initially, Emma trained in Irish dance, winning many open championships and becoming European Champion twice, before discovering a passion for ballet. After attending the Royal Ballet School Senior Associate programme, she trained for 3 years at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, gaining a BA in Modern Ballet. Since then, Emma has achieved an MSc in Dance Science and Education with Distinction at the University of Edinburgh, and in January, presented her MSc research project at the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science. Recently, Emma has worked as a dancer with Ballet Folk on an upcoming project, ‘The Ice Maiden’, and is also currently working towards publishing a journal article.
Emma is continually inspired by the mentors whom she has received support and advice from throughout her training. She is passionate about passing this forward, and creating safe, empowering spaces for dancers to train and work in.
