Kate Stanforth

Training/Education: Kate trained in classical ballet in Northumberland before expanding her practice across wider dance forms.

 

Professional Experience: She has worked with companies such as The Royal Ballet School, Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures, Rambert School and Northern Ballet. Kate is an Artist in Residence at Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Director of Kate Stanforth Academy of Arts, a 300-member, worldwide inclusive performing arts school. Her practice is deeply rooted in classical technique and shaped by her lived experience of chronic illness, with a strong focus on musicality, expression and storytelling.

 

Biggest Inspiration: Kate is passionate about exploring what is possible, and joyful, for all bodies.
