Lachlan Monaghan
Lachlan Monaghan is a Principal Dancer and Choreographer with Birmingham Royal Ballet. Born in Sydney, Australia, he completed his training at the Royal Ballet School and joined Birmingham Royal Ballet in 2012.
His roles include Prince Siegfried in Sir Peter Wright’s Swan Lake, Basilio in Carlos Acosta’s Don Quixote, Romeo in Sir Kenneth Macmillan’s Romeo and Juliet, Prince in Sir David Bintley’s Cinderella and Colas in Sir Frederick Ashton’s La fille mal gardée.
As a choreographer, he recently completed a commission to create a full-length Cinderella for Ballet de Santiago in Chile which had its world premiere in May 2026, and has created works for Birmingham Royal Ballet, International Draft Works at the Royal Opera House and Elmhurst Ballet School.
Alongside his dance career, he is a photographer, musician and is completing a BA Honours in Business and Management.
