Winter Workshops

Winter Workshops 2024 - Inspire, Move, Create

Our mission is to bring young people together through creative, joyful and inclusive ballet activities that nurture confidence, skills and positive values. Our vision is that young people are empowered to thrive, shaping the future of ballet and the world around them.

Under the artistic direction of Amelia O’Hara, our Associate Artistic Director, National Youth Ballet is excited to announce that we will be hosting a trio of inspiring three-hour Winter Workshops this December in Liverpool, London and Ipswich.

These energising and exciting workshops will be taught by leading teachers and facilitators and will enhance young dancers’ performance skills, whilst nurturing their confidence, preparing them for any forthcoming audition experiences. We aim to reignite their passion and joy for dance by nurturing creativity!

Whether you are looking for an opportunity to explore your own individual performance qualities, or to enhance your company skills by collaborating with other young people, this workshop will allow you the space to become the best artist that you can be.

These workshops include:

  • a specifically designed ballet class, which will focus not only on developing technique, but nurturing dancers’ individual performance skills to help them showcase their abilities quickly in new environments.
  • a creative class which will challenge and empower young dancers to explore their own creative voices and gain confidence when collaborating with others.
  • a Moving Minds session to help support and nurture young dancers’ mindset, preparing them for all that lies ahead.

What do people say about NYB workshops?

“I felt so welcome and confident.”

“I enjoyed meeting different people, styles, and challenging myself.”

“People were really friendly and allowed me to get out of my comfort zone.”

“I felt that I learnt a range of new dance skills and techniques to help me in the future.”

“I felt more confident and more inspired.”

Last year all of our workshop participants reported that their confidence levels improved, particularly in the creative process and in their performance skills, two thirds of these were new to NYB!
