Amelia O’Hara becomes new Associate Artistic Director
We are pleased to announce that Amelia O’Hara has become National Youth Ballet’s new Associate Artistic Director. Amelia has a long association with NYB, both as an NYB company dancer, and working on the core team as PA to the Director from 2015 and then Artistic Administrator since 2020. In this new enhanced role she will work closely with Residential Performance Company Artistic Director, Louise Bennett to shape the artistic vision of the RPC, and with Creative Director, Jo Meredith to support our programme of widening participation.
Amelia said “I am thrilled to be taking up the position of Associate Artistic Director. As a young dancer I experienced firsthand the value of National Youth Ballet, with thanks to a scholarship, and I am very proud to now be able to share my skills with this wonderful, forward thinking team, who continue to encapsulate the energy and vision shared by our founder, Jill Tookey. The invaluable experiences, skills and insights into the industry helped to shape and prepare me for life as a dancer. I look forward to sharing these opportunities with many young people, as I believe that access to NYB’s innovative and holistic approach to arts engagement should be experienced by all.”
