Tyrone Singleton

Tyrone Singleton is a British performer, actor and creative artist with a career rooted in classical ballet and expanded across screen and multidisciplinary creative practice. He trained at The Royal Ballet School and Arts Educational School in Tring, developing a strong technical foundation alongside acting, musical theatre and performance studies.

Tyrone joined Birmingham Royal Ballet at the age of seventeen and went on to enjoy a distinguished career of over twenty years with the company. He rose to the rank of Principal Dancer and became one of the longest serving principals in the organisation’s history. His repertoire spanned classical and contemporary works, and he was widely recognised for his musicality, physical authority and dramatic depth. Alongside his work in the UK, he performed internationally as a guest artist, including appearances with the National Ballet of Japan.

Following his retirement from Birmingham Royal Ballet, Tyrone has transitioned into acting and creative work across screen, photography and production, bringing a deep understanding of performance, storytelling and discipline to each field. His work continues to be informed by his background in movement and his interest in narrative, character and visual expression.

Tyrone is a Patron and alumnus of National Youth Ballet. As a guest adjudicator, he is passionate about supporting the next generation of performers, offering insight shaped by professional experience, artistic curiosity and a strong belief in individuality, resilience and expressive confidence.
