Double your donation with our Big Give Arts for Impact campaign
At National Youth Ballet we believe ballet is for everyone, whatever their background or level of experience. But right now, the ballet world doesn’t reflect the society we live in. Only 7% of professional dancers in the UK identify as disabled or neurodivergent, compared with 22% of the UK population. For many young people, the cost of classes, dancewear and travel turns opportunity into a wealth test. Working class representation in the dance sector is at the lowest level in a decade. Too many talented dancers are shut out before they even begin.
We are challenging this by rethinking how ballet is created, taught and shared in the UK. We provide subsidised, inclusive training and workshops for young dancers experiencing barriers to participation to make ballet more accessible for all.
Double your impact for one week only
From 17 – 24 March we are taking part in the Arts For Impact Big Give campaign. For one week only, all donations will be DOUBLED, thanks to our partners at Big Give.

“It’s the first time I’ve ever been able to have the full support to participate in dance without feeling embarrassed about my disability.”

Some ways your donation could help:
- £25 could subsidise a place at one of our UK-wide workshops, giving even more young people the opportunity to experience the joy of NYB.
- £50 could go towards supporting the access needs of a disabled dancer so they can attend NYB All In! classes.
- £100 could pay for a Moving Minds session to support young people’s mental health and wellbeing to reduce anxiety and improve confidence.
- £250 could subsidise the costs for a young dancer to develop their skills as part of our Residential Performance Company Intensive.
